Something we'll never forget
We would like to thank the Board of Directors of the Honor Flight 29 of Northeastern Indiana for making our trip to Washington, DC possible. Also, to Janet Geib for donations $80,000 to pay for the trip.
There were 29 wheelchairs provided for those who needed them. Due to Janet's kindness and generosity 85 Veterans, along with their guardians, were able to make the trip. The guardians saw to any needs that were requested or any help that was needed. We saw many monuments and were impressed by all of them. It brought back many memories for the Veterans.
We would also like to thank all the food that was prepared and given to us, along with the many gifts and keepsakes that were very much appreciated.
There was a sendoff in the morning when we boarded the plane. The flight home was welcomed by several thousand people waiting for hours to welcome us back home. We received many cards and letters from young children and adults thanking us for our service. We would like to thank anybody that made this trip possible! It is something that we will never forget! It is imbedded in our hearts forever!
