FLIGHT #53 – OCTOBER 8TH -SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

First and foremost – Flight #53 IS STILL ON!  However, due to the recent government shutdown, the 122nd Fighter Wing cannot at this time support our morning program and send-off.  Therefore we have an alternate morning plan for arrival and send-off:

NEW MORNING ARRIVAL LOCATION: American Legion Post 241 – Waynedale.  7605 Bluffton Road.  This is about 1.5 miles North of the Airport.

NEW ARRIVAL TIME: No later than 5:00 am EDT – THIS IS A CHANGE

PARKING:  Please park in the main parking lot of the Legion – volunteers will be on hand to direct you.  WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE VETERANS/GUARDIANS TO CARPOOL if you can.   While the parking lot is large, there is slightly less space than the Guard base, so anyone able to carpool will certainly help.

HOTEL  GUESTS – The hotel shuttle will bring you to the American Legion.  There is no change to previous arrangements.  Be in the hotel lobby by 4:30am.

DROP OFF’s – There are NO RESTRICTIONS to being dropped off.  If you need to make a last minute change and want to get dropped off at the American Legion 241, you may do so without any issues.

DEPARTURE – We will use charter buses and transport all flight participants from the legion to the FW Airport and leave from the commercial terminal in lieu of the Air Base.  Your REAL ID is still required for TSA.

Our return to Fort Wayne that night has not changed.  We will arrive back to the FW Airport between 9:30pm – 10:00pm.
